Yes, minister

A bit of humour in times of crisis.
This is taken from a very popular  political satire British sitcom from years ago, now a classic, and maybe it rings a bell *


There are many modal verbs (obligation, possibility, advice...) and  ways to express prediction.  Look at the use of 'nothing'  too. Fill in the gaps

In stage one we say: nothing _____________ happen
In stage two we say: maybe something ___________ but we __________ do  nothing about it.
In stage three we say: Maybe we _________ do something about it but there’s nothing we _________ do
In stage four we say: Maybe there’s something we __________    *but it’s too late now.
